2K Sports plans to launch the next entry in its phenomenally successful NBA 2K franchise, NBA 2K14, on Oct. 1, parent company Take-Two Interactive announced yesterday in an investor release for its fiscal 2013 results.

That is the first Tuesday of October, which is when simulation basketball titles are traditionally released. Platforms for NBA 2K14 have yet to be announced; last year, NBA 2K13 was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows PC, Wii U, Wii, PlayStation Portable, iOS and Android. Amazon currently lists Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of NBA 2K14.

We've reached out to 2K Sports for more details, and will update this article with any information we receive.
