A Gran Turismo 6 product listing appeared on the franchise's official site today, a day ahead of an event where Sony will unveil details on the future of the Gran Turismo racing franchise.
Held at the Silverstone Circuit raceway, in Northamptonshire in the U.K. on May 15, the event will feature series designer and producer Kazunori Yamauchi, who will "provide an update on the future of the Gran Turismo game." The event will also celebrate the racing series 15th anniversary.
The event will include a driving demonstration by the Nismo Athletes — first-class Gran Turismo players who are trained to be real racecar drivers — and display cars from the event's supporters, including Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, KTM, Lamborghini, McLaren Automotive, Mercedes Benz and Toyota.
Earlier this year, Michael Denny, senior vice-president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Worldwide Studios, mentioned Gran Turismo 6 would launch on PlayStation 3. In the recent past, the racing title has appeared on Multiplayer.com, where it was posted with a release date of Nov. 28 and Newegg, who currently lists it for PlayStation 3.
