Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo racing simulation series, said that the just-announced Gran Turismo 6 may be headed to PlayStation 4, IGN reports.
"We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now," Yamauchi told IGN today an event held to celebrate the series' 15th anniversary.
The series creator said that the "best scenario" would be to focus on the PS3 version, downloadable content and updates, which could be followed by a version on PS4 that "came out naturally, as part of that process."
Yamauchi announced Grand Turismo 6 earlier today at the 15th anniversary event, describing it as a "further evolution" of the franchise designed make it "very flexible and expandable." It's set to arrive on PS3 this holiday season.
