Sony teases Panopticon game in new trailer

Sony's PlayStation Japan website unveiled a new trailer for a currently unannounced game following the appearance of a mysterious countdown page that reared its head earlier in the week.

The original countdown page, which included the title Panopticon, featured a clock ticking up to "1,000,000 years." Likewise, the trailer depicts a futuristic setting based in a totalitarian world where citizens appear to be identified using ID numbers.

No release date or platform have been announced; however, the title Panopticon might hint at what can be expected from its narrative. It is likely a reference to the conceptual prison designed by English philosopher Jeremy Bentham, which allowed a single watchman to observe inmates without them being able to tell whether or not they are being watched.
