PlanetSide 2 developer Sony Online Entertainment launched Game Update 8 today, and said its new content and features make it the MMO first-person shooter's biggest update yet.

Headlining the update is a brand-new armored vehicle, the speedy Harasser assault buggy, which can hold three people and is built for hit-and-run attacks with a driver, rumble seat and top-mounted turret. You can see the Harasser in action in the video above.

Game Update 8 also includes new content and features for Mechanized Assault Exo-Suits (MAX), PlanetSide 2's mech suits. Each empire-specific MAX now has a set of long-range anti-vehicle weapons. Sony Online Entertainment added that it tweaked the balance for nearly all weapons and a few tanks, made some improvements to the user interface and fixed numerous bugs.

PlanetSide 2, a free-to-play shooter, launched last November on Windows PC. You can get more details about Game Update 8 on the game's forums.
