Creator of Deus Ex Machina, Mel Croucher, is developing a reimagining of the original game titled Deus Ex Machina 2, and is rallying funds and fan feedback to polish the release.
Pre-release versions of Deus Ex Machina 2 have already been developed for Windows PC and Mac using Unity. Amongst other things, the funding campaign is seeking funds to polish the gameplay and music scoring, and complete prototypes for iOS and Android versions.
The project also aims to raise enough funds to develop the Deus Ex Machina 2 The Director's Cut for the Oculus Rift, and start filming a documentary based on the development of the original game and the reimagining, titled Deus Ex Machina: The Movie.
According to the project's funding page, Sir Christopher Lee (Dracula,James Bond, Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit) is on board as the narrator. Other actors and musicians on board include Joaquim de Almeida (Desperado, 24, Missing, Batman) as The Defect Police, Ian Dury as The Fertilizer using vocals from the first game (Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick and Sex And Drugs And Rock'n'Roll) and singer Chyna Whyne as The Machine.
The Deus Ex Machina 2 Kickstarter campaign has a £64,000 goal (approximately $98,000 USD) with 47 days to go. For more information about the project, watch the video below narrated by Christopher Lee.
