Remedy Entertainment, the Finland-based developer behind the Max Payne and Alan Wake series, is debuting Quantum Break, a new title which appears to bring the episodic narrative structure of Alan Wake to the Xbox One.
The trailer featured a combination of live action and graphics, and featured the tagline "Time is the fire in which we burn."
Microsoft's Phil Spencer said, "To jumpstart this new generation," Microsoft Studios will "create new and original IP for Xbox One. In fact, we have more original titles in development now than at any time in our history."
Spencer said that Microsoft expects 15 exclusive games in the first year of Xbox One, "eight of which are brand-new franchises" including Quantum Break.
This Will be big! "@xbox: #Quantum Break. Immersive Games and Blockbuster Television; together at last. #XboxOne"

If you're concerned that Quantum Break represents a departure from Remedy's investment in Alan Wake, creative director Sam Lake tweeted:
Remedy’s next big game won’t be Alan Wake 2. We’ll return to Wake when the time is right. More on this tomorrow.
