Rayman Legends coming to Vita

Rayman Legends will release on the PlayStation Vita in Europe on Aug. 29 and in the U.K. on Aug. 30, according to a press release sent to Eurogamer Spain.

The side-scrolling platformer from Ubisoft was originally developed as a Wii U exclusive to release in February of 2013, but its launch on the Nintendo platform was delayed when the studio decided to develop it for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for a simultaneous launch.

The studio announced today that the game will also be coming to the PS Vita and will include all the original Rayman Legends content, as well as five exclusive maps playable with the character Murphy, and two exclusive costumes for Rayman and Globox: the Prince of Persia and a costume from the Splinter Cell series. A multiplayer mode is locally accessible through Wi-Fi.

We have reached out to Ubisoft to find out when the game will release in the U.S. for the PS Vita.

UPDATE: The game will release on the PS Vita alongside the console versions in North America on Sept. 3.
