Lords of the Fallen dev to share more information at RPG convention this weekend

City Interactive Games will share more information on its fantasy action role-playing game Lords of the Fallen at the Role Play Convention in Cologne, Germany this upcoming weekend, the developer announced today.

The company will host a panel followed by a Q&A session at the convention on Saturday, June 1 at 2 p.m. Executive producer for Lords of the Fallen Tomasz Gop, whose portfolio includes serving as senior producer on The Witcher 2, will take part in the panel along with other members of the development team. The developers will discuss the game's changing difficulty levels and how they have built gameplay for Lords of the Fallen.

"A challenge in games can be measured with the difference between randomness and skill," Gop said in a statement. "Our goal is to make a game that rewards players for doing what it takes to cross that gap. A game where learning skills and ultimately mastering them is the basis of fun and entertainment."

A playable version of Lords of the Fallen will be shown at E3 2013 in Los Angeles, Cali. later in the month.

Lords of the Fallen is slated to launch in 2014 for Windows PC and next generation consoles. The game sets players in the shoes of a man named Harkyn who lives in a world where "Gods have failed mankind," and where he must take up arms against the Fallen God. Decisions players make will affect their individual storyline and the overall world as they fight among those who both serve and defy the God.
