Amplitude Studios's 4X turn-based strategy game, Endless Space, will receive its first official expansion pack this summer called Disharmony, available as DLC and in-store retail for $9.99.
Disharmony introduces four new heroes and a new faction called "the Harmony." The expansion adds new fighter and bomber units, as well as new battle formation and targeting systems. Along with improved AI it will feature an overhauled ship design interface with an enhanced weapon system. Bombardments, sieges and land invasion mechanics will also be introduced. Further detail is listed here.
"We're lucky to have a motivated team and even luckier to have such an incredible community," Mathieu Girard, CEO of Amplitude Studios said in a statement. "Our expansion pack has been designed based on player requests and community G2G votes, and we hope that it fulfills — or surpasses — their expectations."
Endless Space launched for Windows PC and Mac in July 2012. The game has received four DLC packs since its launch, including "Virtual Awakening" and "Rise of the Automatons." Read our feature where we spoke with Amplitude Studios' co-founders about Endless Space's community-driven game development.
