Red Orchestra 2: Rising Storm coming May 30

Rising Storm, the latest World War 2 first-person shooter in the Red Orchestra 2 franchise is due to launch on May 30, Tripwire Interactive announced today.

Set in the Pacific Theatre, Rising Storm features beach assaults, jungle fighting and close quarters night fighting. Settings include battles such as Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan. The game will come with full mod SDK and Steam Workshop support.

All Rising Storm pre-order packages are currently 15 percent off on Steam. Players who own Red Orchestra 2 will receive a 15 or 25 percent discount. The entry level package is $16.99 (normally $19.99) and the four-pack is $50.97 (usually $59.97).

The Digital Deluxe edition for $25.49 ($29.99) includes day one unlock of the US M12 Trench shotgun, the Japanese Type 99 Machine Gun, a level two Japanese Type 99 Sniper Rifle with 4X scope and a level two US M1 Garand with bayonet. It will also come with two playable Rising Storm soldiers for Killing Floor — Ricky Vegas and Hayako Tanaka — and Rising Storm and Red Orchestra 2 soundtracks.

Red Orchestra 2 originally launched in September 2011 on Windows PC.
