BioShock Infinite commercial brought Elizabeth to life with 3D scanner and a cosplayer

BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games used a 3D scanner and the Russian cosplayer Anna Moleva to create the trailer that premiered in March during AMC's The Walking Dead, VentureBeat reports.

Irrational hired Moleva late last year after she posted cosplay photos of herself as Elizabeth online. To create the commercial, the developer used the handheld EVA Scanner, manufactured by Artec, to capture Moleva's facial expressions for the commercial.

"It's actually amazing how dedicated these game developers are about making their characters as believable as possible," Artec's development director Anna Zevelyov told VentureBeat.

You can check out the CG version of Moleva in the trailer above. For more on the game, be sure to check out Polygon's BioShock Infinite review.
