Former Sumo Digital, SCEA manager joins Bloodforge developer Climax Studios

Sony Computer Entertainment America and Sumo Digital veteran Chris Eden has been appointed the new business development manager at Climax Studios, the developer announced.

Prior to his return to Climax — the studio behind hack-and-slash adventure Bloodforge, Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories — Eden spent three years at Sumo Digital. Prior to his first stint at Climax, Eden worked as senior developer relations account manager for SCEA, managing company relationships with in-house and external developers. He also helped launch Sony's Pub Fund, a partnership program aimed at helping develop and publish indie titles.

Eden has also worked in designing and programming as well as technical management for a combined 20 years of experience in the industry.

"I'm delighted to be returning to Climax, the studio has always been close to my heart and when the opportunity came to rejoin the company I jumped at the chance," Eden said in a press statement. "Simon and the team have an exceptionally talented, world-leading studio and I hope I can contribute to their continued success, in an era when we seem to be beset by stories of doom and gloom for U.K. developers. Climax continues to act as a showcase for the best of British development."

"Way back in the distant past Chris worked for a young company called Climax — and we are pleased welcome him back to the fold," added Climax CEO Simon Gardner.
