Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate confirmed for PS3, Xbox 360 in North America this fall

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, which publisher Tecmo Koei Games refers to as "the definitive Dead or Alive 5 package," will be released in North America this fall on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the company announced today.

Tecmo Koei revealed the game earlier this week in Famitsu magazine, but only confirmed a Japanese release set for this fall. The publisher said today that it will launch the game at retail and digitally on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is a repackaging of Team Ninja's 2012 fighter, Dead or Alive 5, with the new elements that were included in the PlayStation Vita title Dead or Alive 5 Plus — including a tutorial mode and Move Details Plus, a move analysis tool — along with a smattering of additional content.

The new content includes characters such as Momiji from the Ninja Gaiden series, who is featured in the announcement trailer above. The very end of the trailer teases the return of Leon, who did not appear in Dead or Alive 5. Team Ninja is also bringing in stages based on locations from the Ninja Gaiden franchise, such as Sky City Tokyo, a level that you can see in the 13 screenshots below.
