Electronic Arts showed the next-generation version of Madden NFL 25 running on the EA Sports Ignite engine for the first time during its E3 press briefing June 10, and later confirmed it as a launch title for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Cam Weber, the general manager of American football at EA Sports, introduced in-game footage showing off advances in player movement (foot planting), AI (players who get past obstacles intelligently) and line blocking. A gameplay trailer highlighted Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings, who is the cover athlete for the next-gen versions of the game, and Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. (Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders won EA's cover vote and will be featured on the cover of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.)

The company announced the engine during Microsoft's Xbox One reveal event last month as the engine for all its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sports titles.
Ripten reports that in addition to the new features powered by EA Sports Ignite, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Madden NFL 25 will include the full Connected Franchise mode that will be present in the current-generation versions of the game.
