GDC Next will feature talks from former Microsoft game director Adam Orth, thatgamecompany and Disney this November during its inaugural game conference, Gamasutra reports.
According to the report, thatgamecompany will discuss its design philosophy and future through studio manager Sunni Pavolvic's talk, "An Experimental Approach to Interactive Entertainment." Disney, meanwhile, will talk about theme park design lessons for game developers in "Location-Based Interactive Storytelling the Walt Disney Imagineering Way." The talk will feature imagineers Jonathan Ackley and Chris Purvis.
Adam Orth, who sparked controversy on Twitter with his comments about always online consoles, will speak on reforming toxic online behavior through "Mob Rules: The Destructive Power of Opinion and Online Community." Google will also speak at the event about the first six months of Google Play.
More organizers and talks will be announced as the event nears. GDC Next currently features six tracks: The Future of Gaming, Next Generation Game Platforms, Free-to-Play and New Business Models, Smartphone and Tablet Games, Cloud Gaming and Independent Games. Gamasutra's story also adds that the first 500 online registrants will recieve a 30 percent discount on the event.
GDC Next will take place Nov. 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
