Sega will sponsor two Sonic-themed events this August, Sonic Boom in North America and Summer of Sonic in the U.K., according to a post today on the Sega Blog.
Sonic Boom 2013 will take place Saturday, August 10, 2013, at The Pageant in Saint Louis, Mo. The Midwest venue, Sega explained, is designed to give more people an opportunity to attend.
"One of the things we hear from a lot of fans is that the cool stuff always happens in San Francisco, L.A., and New York, and never close to them," the post reads. "As someone who grew up in the Midwest, I totally remember how that feels. So we decided to have Sonic Boom in a different city this year, and we hope that you'll join us there."
Summer of Sonic 2013 will take place Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Westminster Central Hall in London. This year's theme will be "Metal Sonic & Badniks," highlighting the robotic counterpart to Sega's blue hero.
Both events will include Sonic-themed events like trivia and costume contests, artwork, cosplay and more. Sega will be announcing more information about both events in the coming weeks.
