Velocity Ultra headed to PS Vita July 2

Velocity Ultra, a FuturLab's remake of the PlayStation Mini shooter Velocity, will be released July 2 for PlayStation Vita, the developer's managing director James Marsden announced today on the PlayStation Blog.

Marsden touts Velocity Ultra as the "definitive version of the game," which will ship with online leaderboards, trophy support and a new, cartoon-inspired art style created to match the PS Vita's resolution. It's also tuned to run at 60 frames-per-second on Sony's handheld, where it will sell through the PlayStation Network for $7.99.

To see the sci-fi shooter in action, you can watch the trailer above, which was released earlier.
