Wolfenstein: The New Order will be difficult but fair, designer says

Wolfenstein: The New Order's highest difficulty setting will be so hard players "will cry blood," senior gameplay designer Andreas Ojerfors told GameSpot, but the game will "always [be] fair."

According to Ojerfors, The New Order features different difficulty modes in order to offer a challenge, and when players do die, it's "always your fault."

"This is not an easy game," Ojerfors said. "Of course we have the five difficulty levels of the original Wolfenstein 3D, like everything from 'Daddy Can I Play?' to 'I Am Death Incarnate.' So you can turn it down or turn it up if you want to. But like the default, normal setting of the game, it's going to be a challenging experience."

The New Order was announced last month. The game takes place in an alternate 1960s reality and is a "reimagining" of the Wolfenstein franchise. The game is currently being developed for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and next-gen consoles and is expected to launch in the fourth fiscal quarter of this year.
