The Chaos Engine reboot heading to Steam, pre-order available now

A reboot of The Chaos Engine, the Bitmap Brothers' top-down run-and-gun game, is being developed for Windows PC via Steam and is available for pre-order now.

The original game was released in 1993 and took players to a steampunk Victorian-era England. According to The Chaos Engine's website, the reboot will take place in a similar setting. One-to-two players will be able to choose from six different mercenaries as they adventure through four "dynamic landscapes."

Hotline Miami publisher Devolver Digital is currently signed on to the reboot. You can check out the gameplay-free teaser trailer above.

The Chaos Engine can be pre-ordered now through GetGames and will require Steam. A release date has not yet been announced.
