An Xbox 360 app for Time Warner Cable will be available this summer, allowing subscribers to the cable service and Xbox Live Gold to watch up to 300 live TV channels on their console, Microsoft announced today.
According to Microsoft, the app will offer more live channels than any other service on Xbox 360. The list includes networks such as AMC, the home of Mad Men and Breaking Bad; Cartoon Network, for your Adult Swim fix; and Comedy Central, where Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert live alongside the citizens of South Park. The app will also allow for voice-based navigation with Kinect.
Microsoft worked with Verizon to bring a FiOS TV app to the console in December 2011; it launched with 26 channels and was expanded to 75 channels a year later. In addition, the Xbox 360's ESPN app was updated last November with the sports network's entire slate of live TV channels.
