Ubisoft will release a new novel and art book based on the next installment in its Assassin's Creed franchise, Black Flag, the company announced via press release.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, a novel about Edward Kenway's path from a young privateer to a deadly pirate, will be released first in the U.K. on Nov. 7 and then North America Nov. 26. Penguin Books will publish it.

The game's official art book, The Art of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, will be available Oct. 28. The book includes concept art featuring the game's vastly different sea setting. The book will be available in a special slipcase edition that features two exclusive concept art prints sign by the artists; only 500 copies of this edition will be available.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag launches Oct. 29 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Windows PC and Wii U. Ubisoft recently confirmed that the game would also be released on Xbox One.
