The Last of Us multiplayer gameplay leak offers a look at the battle between survivors

A leaked in-game gameplay video for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us shows off the upcoming title's multiplayer mode.

The footage, which was originally posted by Spanish website Hobby Consolas before being taken down and uploaded by other users, offers a look at one of the apparent multiplayer modes in the game featuring a shoot-out between the remaining survivors of the game's mysterious plague. Firefights take place across abandoned parking lots and derelict buildings, while players can use a variety of weapons including makeshift melee tools to take down opponents.

Yesterday, alleged multiplayer details leaked online hinting at the introduction of a clan-based survival mode that will allow the player to train groups of NPCs and keep them alive from waves of infected enemies. Publisher Sony Computer Entertainment later released the first screenshots of the game's multiplayer component showing off skirmishes between survivors as shown in action in the leaked footage.

The Last of Us will be available worldwide June 14 on PlayStation 3. Its $19.99 season pass includes three DLC packs, two of which will contain multiplayer content.
