Company of Heroes 2 developer Relic Entertainment is running an open beta for the World War II real-time strategy title from today through June 18, publisher Sega announced today.
Relic previously ran a closed beta in April. The open beta shows off Company of Heroes 2's multiplayer mode, with competitive and co-op game types available on six different maps. Players will also be able to rank up through the first 45 levels of the game's progression and bulletin system.
In addition, anyone who tries the open beta will be able to transfer their progression and unlocks to the full game, as long as they buy the game within 60 days of its launch and play it on the same Steam account as the beta.
"We have been working hard since the closed beta balancing and improving all areas of the game as well as adding new matchmaking servers," said Greg Wilson, producer of Company of Heroes 2, in a press release announcing the open beta. "[Company of Heroes 2] has had one of the most successful beta programs we've ever run at Relic and the support of the fans has been a critical factor in making the game more balanced and stable for launch."
Company of Heroes 2 is set for release June 25 on Windows PC.
