Sony has released a brief teaser trailer for Daylight, Zombie Studios' procedurally-generated survival horror title coming to the PlayStation 4.
The trailer is simple, panning across rooms in an eerie, dilapidated insane asylum before coming to a doll floating in midair, suspended by an invisible force alongside other objects like a smartphone. The walls glow with mysterious runes, and then the objects drop to the floor — where the phone begins to ring.
Powered by Unreal Engine 4 and written by former IGN staffer Jessica Chobot, Daylight stars a woman who wakes up in the middle of an abandoned asylum with no memory of having arrived there. Notably, the game features no way to fight back against enemies; players must flee for their lives instead. As a procedurally-generated title, the insane asylum will be different in every playthrough.
Zombie Studios' communication manager Collin Moore posted some details about Daylight's PS4 development over on PlayStation Blog. Though the game will also be released on Windows PC, it will be a PS4 exclusive as far as consoles are concerned.
Daylight is expected to release in early 2014.
