GDC Europe adds talks on Indie Megabooth, C64 ports

The Indie Games Summit at GDC Europe 2013 next month will include talks about creating the Indie Megabooth and porting Canabalt and Super Crate Box to Commodore 64, the event's organizers announced today.

The events will take place Aug. 20 in Cologne, Germany and include a talk called "Building the Indie Megabooth: Showcasing Indies Above the Noise," in which organizer Kelly Wallick discusses how she helped corral the participants and grow the booth. A talk called "Porting Contemporary Games to a Vintage Platform" will feature Paul Koller, who ported Semi Secret Software's Canabalt and Vlambeer's Super Crate Box to C64. Other events will discuss porting the text-based Steve Jackson's Sorcery! to iOS and a panel on "Getting Your Independent Game Noticed in 2013." The Indie Games Summit will also contain postmortems on Vlambeer's Ridiculous Fishing and Broken Rules' Chasing Aurora.

GDC Europe will take place Aug. 19-21, and Polygon will be there to bring you all the news. For more on the Wallick and the Indie Megabooth, be sure to check out Polygon's feature. You can learn more about Ridiculous Fishing's misadventures with cloning in another Polygon feature.
