A new trailer for Frogwares' puzzle adventure Crimes & Punishments shows several murders that need investigating alongside famous fictional sleuth Sherlock Holmes.
The trailer tips its hat to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original Sherlock Holmes canon, with visual references to Doyle's The Adventure of Black Peter in which Holmes investigates the murder of an old sailor while finding that few have the strength to push a harpoon straight through a man and into the wall behind him.
There will be eight investigations in the game total, and the developer says that switching to Unreal Engine 3 over its in-house engine will allow for greater detail in scoping out the crime scene and the characters Holmes meets.
Crimes & Punishments is expected to release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC later this year.
