Nintendo 3DS owners in North America can download a system software update that adds additional StreetPass Mii Plaza features, including four new StreetPass-powered games.

According to Nintendo, version 6.1.0-12U of the Nintendo 3DS system software adds new features "such as the ability to change your Mii character's expression and the ability to purchase new StreetPass Mii Plaza games," as well as "improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments."

The main draw are four new StreetPass Mii Plaza games. Like Puzzle Swap and the Find Mii dungeon crawlers, they'll use the power of other Nintendo 3DS Miis you encounter for their gameplay. The four new titles are:

  • Mii Force - A sidescrolling shooter in which players use other Miis to save StreetPass Galaxy from the Gold Bone Gang
  • Flower Town - A gardening and plant-breeding game that lets players water and cross-breed flora to become a "Master Gardener"
  • Warrior's Way - A strategy game in which players collect Miis to build an army via StreetPass and battle other commanders to conquer the world
  • Monster Manor - A "spooky paranormal investigation" in which players act as a detective trying to solve the mystery of a haunted house and battle ghosts as they try to make it to the top floor

Each title costs $4.99, but the four games can be purchased as a bundle for $14.99.

The system update adds one more Puzzle Swap picture, new unlockable Mii hats and the option to collect even more Mii accessories through plaza tickets. Tickets can be collected in each of the four new StreetPass Mii Plaza games.

The North American software update for 3DS has been available in Japan and Europe for a few weeks, but players stateside can download the new software now.
