NetMarble will retire massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Arcane Saga, on Sept. 16, the company announced on its official website, saying the costs to run the game outweighs the income generated.
"After much consideration we have made the difficult decision to retire Arcane Saga. As of today the cash shop has been permanently closed," the post states about the game formally known as Prius Online. "On September 16th the game servers will go offline. We want to thank all our fans, old and new, for their support. Without you, we would have never made it this far."
"After a deep review, we've determined that the costs to operate are greater than the income generated. We do not feel we will be able to properly support the game if we reduce the amount of staff currently working on it. Therefore our only option is to close the game. "
Events leading up to the game's final day include XP Boosts, a Boss Event and more. Special package offerings for the company's other Window PC titles will include District 187, Uncharted Waters Online and Dice Venture.
All Arcane Saga characters and items will be deleted on Sept. 15 and NetMarble do not have plans to resurrect Arcane Saga in the future. Full details can be viewed on NetMarble's official website.
