Mega Ran Japan Tour Kickstarter raises $13,390

Mega Ran's Kickstarter campaign successfully funded

The Mega Ran Japan Tour Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a Japanese chiptunes and hip-hop (chip-hop) remix tour with accompanying albums and Blu-ray featurette ended today with $13,390 raised, exceeding its $10,000 funding goal.

The campaign funds will pay for the tour, which took place in various Tokyo venues back in June, and also fund the production a Mega Ran remix album with songs re-imagined by chiptune artists, a Blu-ray disc featuring concert and interview footage, limited edition music albums exclusive to Japan and a vinyl release of his music.

Musicians involved with the project include Raheem "Mega Ran" Jarbo, whose career started when Capcom invited him to perform hip-hop covers of music from the Mega Man games at San Diego Comic-Con, as well as chip-tune artists, game developers and game music composers like Professor Sakamoto, DJ DN3, Sexy-Synthesizer, Denshi Kaimen and more.
