Capcom will expand the roster of Super Street Fighter 4 by five in early 2014 with the addition of Hugo, Poison, Rolento, Elena and an all-new, never-before-seen fighter, the company announced at the Evo fighting game championships today.
The $15 add-on, coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC versions of the game, will also add new stages and requisite balance updates. According to a series of tweets from Gamespot reporter Rod "Slasher" Breslau, Capcom said it will show the expansion's first trailer and reveal the name of the update — no longer Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition — on Sunday, July 14, prior to the Super Street Fighter 4 Evo finals.
The official Evo 2013 streaming schedule has a block reserved for "special presentations" at 6:30 p.m. PT on Sunday evening leading up to the Super Street Fighter 4 finals at 7 p.m. PT.
Update: Capcom Unity posted additional details about the 2014 update, which will also come to retail disc as a complete, standalone package for $39.99. The disc version will include "all DLC costumes for all characters released until now, as well as future content."
Capcom also details some of the balance tweaks coming to Super Street Fighter 4, touching on changes coming for Chun-li, Dudley, Balrog and T. Hawk.
