A special edition of Indie Game: The Movie will be released July 24 and contain more than 300 minutes of footage that includes a new short film anthology, epilogues of what happened to the developers after the documentary launched and commentary from Team Meat.
The teaser trailer above shows additional interviews with developers Derek Yu (Spelunky), David Hellman (artist) and Jason Rohrer (Passage), as well as footage from game industry conferences and award shows filmed after the events of the original documentary. The bonus content will also feature stories about more game creators.
The special edition is currently available for pre-order for $14.99. Those who already own the movie can pre-order the bonus content only for $4.99. There is also a special edition DVD/Blu-ray pre-order that comes with a signed copy of the film, limited edition packaging with artwork by Edmund McMillen, a notebook, laptop sticker and a dual-sided poster. The special pre-order price for the DVD special edition is $59.99 (this will go up to $69.99 once the pre-order period is over). Only 3,000 special edition DVD sets are being created, and pre-orders will come with a redeemable Steam key for the film.
