A Mad Max motion comic will introduce future players of the video game to Max's mechanic, Chumbucket, and expand on the game's story, USA Today reports.

Chumbucket will act as Max's go-to for vehicular upgrades in the upcoming game. You can watch the trailer above for a teaser look at the comic's art style and story.

DC Entertainment writers Tom Taylor, best known for his work on Injustice: Gods Among Us and Earth 2, and Shawn Alexander of Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight fame will pen the comic. Speaking with the publication, Alexander said that both the comic and game will allows fans to "see more of the world [Max] exists in and explore him as a character further than what we've seen before."

Avalanche Studios announced Mad Max during Sony's E3 2013 press briefing last month. The game will launch for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2014. Mad Max's first gameplay trailer was released earlier this week.
