Dota 2 now out on Linux and Mac

Valve announced today the launch of Dota 2 on Linux and Mac, following last week's official release of the game on Windows PC after an extended period in beta.

The company announced the launch in its latest patch notes for the free-to-play title, which features a number of improvements to the game including tweaks to its interface, visuals, matchmaking and gameplay. You can check out the patch notes in full right here.

The Mac and Linux minimum specs are as follows:

Mac OS X Lion 10.7
8GB Hard drive space
nVidia 320M or higher, or Radeon 7000 or higher, or Intel HD 3000 or higher

Ubuntu 12.04
Dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz
8GB Hard Drive Space
nVidia GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD Radeaon HD2600/3600 (Graphic Drivers: nVidia 310, AMD 12.11), OpenGL 2.1 OpenAL Compatible Sound Card
