Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles announced, coming this October

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a side-scrolling action-brawler inspired by the Nickelodeon TV show, will launch this October for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo 3DS, according to a recent press release.

The game will feature four-person local co-op on Xbox 360 and Wii, as well as multiple game modes and franchise familiars. According to the release, the game will include an "authentic storyline" and is intended for a younger audience.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is yet another product of Activision and Nickelodeon's multi-year deal. The two companies signed a contract in February to create titles based on the TMNT cartoon show. The first game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, is expected to launch as a downloadable title this summer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be available Oct. 22 in North America, Oct. 23 in Asia and Australia, and Oct. 25 in Europe and Latin America.
