Pokémon X & Y videos show uncut gameplay, new anime

Two new videos from Nintendo show off three minutes of pure Pokémon X and Pokémon Y gameplay as well as a short teaser for the associated season of the anime.

Taken from Pokémon Smash!, Nintendo's weekly Pokémon information TV program, the first video shows an early-game battle between a player's starter Froakie and a level five Fletchling, which the player catches. The video also shows a sequence from later on in the game, as the player fights an Octillery with the recently revealed sword-like Honedge, and surfs across the sea to an island.

The second video is a short teaser for the upcoming season of the long-running Pokémon tie-in anime, with protagonist Ash Ketchum arriving to the new Kalos region by plane and announcing himself to the world alongside his trusty Pikachu. The teaser also shows how new starter Pokémon Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin will appear in animated form.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will launch for Nintendo 3DS on October 12.
