Nintendo offering Wii U eShop credit for loading up accounts

New, 22 comments

Wii U owners who add $50 or more to their eShop account before July 29 will receive bonus credits towards future purchases, Nintendo of America announced today on its website.

Players must fill their e-wallets using a credit card or Nintendo pre-paid card before 3 a.m. ET on July 29 in order to get the bonus cash.

Adding $50 or more will net $5 in extra credit, and adding $100 will earn a $10 credit. Nintendo states codes to redeem these bonus credits will be sent to the email address attached to players' Nintendo Network accounts on Aug. 2 — just in time to purchase Pikmin 3 on Aug. 4.

The offer is only available in the U.S. and Canada and bonus credits can only be used in the Wii U eShop. Codes are limited to one per Nintendo Network account and must be redeemed by 3 a.m. ET on Jan. 1, 2014.
