The next installment in the World Rally Championship racing series, WRC: FIA World Rally Championship 4, will launch this October on PlayStation 3, Vita, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, publisher Bigben Interactive announced today.
World Rally Championship 4, the official game for the 2013 FIA World Rally Championship racing tournament, will include all rallies from the 2013 WRC season and the leading WRC teams and drivers. The game will incluce an updated version of the series' Career Mode and upgraded graphics courtesy of developer Milestone's new Spikengine.
The game will also feature new lighting and weather effects, which will be unique to each racing stage. The developer noted in a press statement that the game is being built on two idea pillars: "realism and immersion."
In previous years, the WRC games were published by Italian company Black Bean Games. Prior to 2010, they were published by Sony. WRC 4 will be published by Bigben Interactive, a European video game distributor.
"We are very pleased and proud to become the publisher of this famous racing franchise," said Bigben CEO Alain Falc in a press statement. "This is a new step in the partnership built with Milestone over the past few years. All our efforts are done to offer players the most complete and realistic WRC videogame."
