Indie studios developing for Xbox One will likely have no RAM restrictions limiting their work on the new console, Microsoft head Phil Spencer said in a post on Twitter.
This follows rumors to the contrary suggesting indie game would only have access to a maximum of 3GB of RAM based on the console's Windows partition. In response to a Twitter query, Spencer replied: "Goal is to allow devs access to full pool of resources available, no indie RAM limit."
Earlier this week Xbox corporate vice president Marc Whitten laid out the companies vision for indie self-publishing. Speaking to Polygon, Whitten clarified that this vision will not be fully realized at the console's launch and will likely rolled out in phases. You can see Whitten's full comments right here.
