7 Days to Die mixes survival, RPG and zombies on Kickstarter

The Fun Pimps Entertainment is currently raising money via Kickstarter for 7 Days to Die, a project that combines concepts from role-playing games, first-person shooters, survival horror and tower-defense with voxel-based open-world gameplay.

7 Days to Die was announced earlier this year. The game takes place in a near future where a third world war has left the planet devastated; players take on the role of a survivor trapped in zombie-infested territory. Players will need to master basic survival skills, such as scavenging, water purification and hunting, as well as crafting, looting and combat tactics. In addition to a solo, cooperative and multiplayer campaign, 7 Days to Live will also include a day and night system. Watch the video above for a summary of The Fun Pimps' vision.

Those interested in contributing to the Kickstarter can back on tiers ranging from $5 to $10,000. Rewards include a special backers only badge, early beta access, a copy of the game and a printed map. At the time of this post, 7 Days to Die has raised more than $74,000 of its $200,000 goal. Funding efforts end Aug. 15. The game is also collecting votes viaSteam Greenlight.

7 Days to Die is currently being developed for Windows PC, Mac and Linux.
