Sony cancels Warrior's Lair on PS Vita and PS3

Warrior's Lair — an action role-playing game set in a medieval fantasy universe — has been cancelled, according to a statement Sony Computer Entertainment sent to IGN.

Originally known as Ruin, the game was in development first by Idol Minds and then by Sony Computer Entertainment San Diego for both PS3 and PS Vita. Shown at E3 in 2011, the game was used to demonstrate Sony's Cross-Play functionality between the PS3 and the PS Vita, which was still a new feature at the time.

"Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that Warrior's Lair for PS Vita is no longer in development," a Sony representative told IGN. "We apologize to those who pre-ordered the title and ask that they contact their retailer directly to cancel their pre-sale."

A Sony representative confirmed with Polygon that the PS3 version of the game has also been cancelled.
