Guild Wars 2 adding achievement rewards

Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet will add rewards to the game's achievement system and revamp its interface in an upcoming patch, the studio announced today.

The reward system is retroactive, so any achievement points that users have already attained will count toward the rewards. The rewards themselves include armor and weapon skin unlocks; permanent account bonuses like experience boosts for kills; currency; skins and glory boosters for PvP play; badges of honor and siege blueprints for world-versus-world play; utility items; and special titles.

ArenaNet is updating the achievement interface with an eye toward usability, adding summary and detail pages for a quick overview and specific achievements, respectively. Players will also be able to track up to 20 achievements in a watch list and group achievements by category.

Guild Wars 2's next update, "Bazaar of the Four Winds," is set to launch July 9.
