Miiverse update adds tags, raises user message character limit

The latest update to Miiverse, the Wii U's social network, gives users the option to tag their posts and raises the character limit for user-to-user messages, Nintendo announced today.

It also includes some tweaks to the "Do Not Let Others Use Your Nintendo Network ID" section of the Miiverse Code of Conduct.

Users of both the Wii U and web versions of Miiverse can now label their posts with tags such as "Impressions," "Question," "Accomplishment," "Retro" and "Players Wanted." According to NeoGAF users, some of the tags appear to be restricted to certain games — for example, the "Players Wanted" tag shows up for Wii U titles that support online play, and the "Retro" tag is available for Virtual Console games.

Nintendo also doubled the character limit for user messages from 100 to 200 in the update. A previous update did the same thing for posts and comments. This feature only applies to Miiverse on Wii U; the network has been available on the web and on mobile devices since late April.
