Mechwarrior Tactics dev diary customizes giant death robots

A new video for upcoming free-to-play strategy title Mechwarrior Tactics features the game's developers discussing its systems.

Players take command of a "Lance" of four mechs of any size from Light to Assault, and do battle with enemies across different worlds. It's important to assess the battle conditions before a fight, according to the video, for an arid battleground might suit some units better than a swampy one.

In a fashion similar to that in a TCG, Mechwarrior Tactics allows players to purchase bundles of cards using currency earned in-game, and they can use the upgrades or pilots contained in these cards to further customize their giant fighting robots.

Mechwarrior Tactics will be released as a browser-based title later this year.
