A new trailer for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified capitalizes on a pop-culture meme to reinforce that character death is permanent in the upcoming shooter.
The phrase "YOLO" ("you only live once") doesn't apply to most games, where respawns and extra lives are the norm. In The Bureau, however, a poor commander can get his squad killed and they won't be coming back. This permanent death has been a fixture of the XCOM series for years, and was also a feature in last year's XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
The trailer highlights the many ways in which a commander can lead his forces to their deaths.
The Bureau hits Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC on August 20.
