The Royal Ontario Museum is partnering with the Toronto-based Gamercamp program for a three-day game jam to develop interactive components for the museum's exhibits, the ROM has announced.
The game jam will take place Aug. 9 through 11 at the ROM in Toronto, Ontario. Entries to the jam must be games designed to animate the museum's existing exhibits and are required to use the theme "foretelling the past."
Participants will be given special access to the ROM's galleries and exhibits prior to the jam, as well as discuss the history behind them with museum experts. Completed games will be tested at the ROM in October and will be showcased at Gamercamp in November, and all participants will be able to keep the rights to their work.
Interested participants can apply alone or as a team of up to four. The museum will also host an information session on July 12 at 6 p.m. local time.
