A new trailer for Pikmin 3 shows off the various kinds of Pikmin and what they can do in Nintendo's upcoming puzzle-platformer.
Blue Pikmin can survive in the water where other Pikmin perish. Red Pikmin and yellow Pikmin are resistant to fire and electricity respectively, and reds are hardier in combat whereas yellows can be thrown farther. The trailer also outlines the skills of the two new types, rock Pikmin and winged Pikmin: Rock Pikmin are heavy and can be used to break walls and foes' armor, and the tiny winged Pikmin can carry objects over water and other obstacles.
Pikmin 3 comes out Aug. 4 on Wii U.
