Jen MacLean, former CEO of defunct and controversial developer 38 Studios has been announced as a keynote speaker at the International Game Developers Association annual summit, due to take place July 31 and Aug. 1.
38 Studios imploded last year following the commercial failure of Kingdoms of Amalur and was embroiled in a high profile media frenzy concerning funding from the State of Rhode Island.
She will be joined by Ed Fries, one of the original Xbox's launch team. Fries will be talking about the lessons he has learned in the years since he left Microsoft, during which he has worked on a string of boards and advisory roles.
Other presenters at the conference will include Doru Apreotesei (Ubisoft Blue Byte), Cade Peterson (SCEA) and Lindsay Peck (ArenaNet). The IGDA's annual conference takes place at the Hilton in San Francisco's Union Square.
