Modder John Mazzocchi has updated ten-year old arcade hockey game NHL Hitz for GameCube, to include new rosters and other real world changes.
NHL Hitz was a short-lived series of hockey games from defunct publisher Midway, for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube. Mazzocchi, a fan of the games, has rebuilt the GameCube version to include updated play-by-play commentary, advertising boards, national teams as well as rosters, as of June 2013.
"In my opinion, it's the greatest hockey game ever made," he said in an interview with Kotaku. "As far as I know this is the first major roster update ever released for any NHL Hitz game."
Mazzocchi has been working on this update for six months, following an earlier revision of the game in January.
