A trailer for Firebrand Games' Solar Flux shows how one tiny spacecraft can save the universe.
Players must collect plasma and shoot it into dying stars to restore them, while managing limited fuel reserves and being careful to not fry from the heat. Players must utilize solar flares and gravity to maneuver to save fuel for the moments when it's really needed.
Firebrand CEO Mark Greenshields told Polygon that Solar Flux had to be good enough to stand on its own because the studio didn't have backers cushioning the financial impact should it flop.
Solar Flux is planned to launch on iPad this August, with other iOS and Android devices to follow.
